Cardiology in Bucharest
ERN GUARD-HEART is the largest tertiary cardiac center in Romania. It has a high concentration of highly trained professionals and modern technical equipment. It performs more than 40% of the cardiovascular interventions made today in the country and is a leading center for heart transplantation, cardiology and cardiac surgery.
A survey was conducted among 1475 Cardiology in Bucharest members of the Romanian Society of Cardiology and included patients with suspected or known cardiovascular disease who were hospitalized for acute cardiac symptoms. All participants were invited to respond online. The survey was anonymous and voluntary. Results were analyzed using SPSS software.

A large proportion of Romanian cardiologists are aware of the existence of Tafamidis as a specific therapy for ATTR associated CA, but less than one third consider it an option for mixed phenotype forms of AL amyloidosis, which is in agreement with the limited clinical data available. Improving knowledge of this therapeutic option is important in Romania, where a number of patients with genetic diseases present with both LV hypertrophy and sensory-motor neuropathy. It could also facilitate early recognition of this form of the disease and improve outcomes. We would like to thank the cardiologist community for their participation in this study.
