Dear Friends:

Welcome to the 118th Amesbury Days festival!  This year might be a record-breaker, there are 21 events taking place over 13 days.

I am happy to announce that all your favorite events are returning this year, and there are a couple of new events that I think will soon be on your “must attend” list.  The new additions are the Concert in the Pines with Frank Czar as the organizer and the historic walking tour led by George Odell.  There have been many requests for this type of event, let’s get outside and learn about, or revisit some of the special places in Amesbury.  And, the Concert in the Pines is destined to be a great event.

A sense of relief has settled over me in the last week.  I was worried that I would have to cancel some events to cover the Fireworks Show.  But, people rallied and made it so we can run all the family-friendly events that everybody loves.  THANK YOU for making it happen.

This year’s theme, “Everyday heroes, who is your superhero?” resonates with me because it took everyday heroes to step in and save some really popular events. Alyssa Premo, Nick and Denise Wheeler, Trixie Ricker, Paul Fortier, Coleen Magowan and most certainly Mayor Ken Gray all helped to save the day.  If you need to get stuff done, you want these people on your team. I am very fortunate to have these people in my corner.

I hope you will take a moment to share your Everyday Hero story on the Amesbury Days website.

The full schedule of events, specials announcements and more can be found at www.AmesburyDays.org and on our Facebook page.

Kind regards,
